Welcome To A New Beautiful You

In many cases, liposuction can sculpt the ideal thigh contour by removing excess pockets of unwanted fat. But when the thighs are saddled with both excess fat and loose skin, liposuction alone will not produce the desired results. Thigh lift is needed to remove the fat and skin and tighten the remaining skin, to achieve thinner, more toned-looking thighs.

If you are seeking thigh lift in or around Santa Ana and San Clemente, Dr. Ali Roham is highly regarded as the surgeon of choice. When you trust your care to Dr. Roham, you can feel assured you will enjoy a sleeker thigh contour and an overall more beautiful body shape.

Candidacy Requirements for Thigh Lift

Dr. Roham meets with all prospective thigh lift candidates individually to determine whether they are fit for surgery, and to discuss the particulars of the operation.

Candidates for thigh lift typically meet the following criteria:

  • Bothered by loose skin and excess fat on the inner and/or outer thighs

  • May have trouble fitting into certain types of clothing due to heavy thighs

  • May experience skin irritation or rashes due to the excess thigh skin

  • At, or close to, their goal weight

  • In good health and a non-smoker

  • Understands what thigh lift can reasonably achieve

  • Can commit to maintaining their body weight after surgery to enjoy long-lasting results

If you believe you meet the aforementioned candidacy requirements, Dr. Roham invites you to schedule an informational consultation. During the appointment, you will have the opportunity to ask him any questions you have about the procedure. Together, you will develop a treatment plan designed to achieve your ideal cosmetic outcome.

What Happens During Thigh Lift?

Thigh lift is usually performed on an outpatient basis. It may or may not be combined with other body contouring procedures, such as arm lift or liposuction, depending on your ultimate goals.

Once anesthesia has been administered, Dr. Roham begins with the surgical incisions. The incision pattern he follows depends on the degree of correction needed. Sometimes an incision where the upper thigh meets the groin area will suffice; in other cases, Dr. Roham must make additional incisions extending down the inside of the thigh toward the knee or wrapping around the back of the thighs or around the hips and across the back. Whenever possible, Dr. Roham takes care to place incisions where any scarring will be concealed by clothing.

Through the incisions, the surgeon removes excess fat and skin and tightens the tissues for more attractive thigh contours. He smoothes the thigh skin so it looks taut, and he finishes the procedure by closing the incisions with sutures.

Thigh Lift Recovery

Most patients tolerate the thigh lift recovery process quite well. Compression garments are worn to support the healing tissues, and oral pain medication can quell any discomfort.

Dr. Roham asks thigh lift patients to avoid strenuous activities for several weeks after surgery. He schedules several follow-up appointments to check in on healing progress and clear patients to safely resume work and exercise.

Initial thigh lift results can be seen after the post-operative swelling and bruising subside, and final results typically reveal themselves several months after surgery. The results can last indefinitely, as long as the patient does not gain or lose a significant amount of weight.
