Welcome To A New Beautiful You

As we age, our eyebrows tend to sag out of position, sitting lower and heavier on the face. Prominent wrinkles and creases can form across the forehead and between the brows. This can give an otherwise youthful appearing face a sad, angry or confused expression. The forehead may seem disproportionately long as compared to the middle and lower regions of the face.

Brow lift, sometimes called forehead lift, is designed to restore the brows to a more appealing position and smooth wrinkles on the forehead and between the brows. With a better brow position, the face appears pleasant and youthful.

The difference between a good and great plastic surgeon is that a great one knows how to improve the brows without overcorrecting them. Dr. Ali Roham is renowned throughout Southern California and beyond for his subtle yet effective techniques. He can make you look younger and happier without leaving you appearing “pulled,” frozen or perpetually surprised.

Who Is a Candidate for Brow Lift?

You may be suited to brow lift if you meet the following criteria:

  • You are bothered by sagging or drooping brows.

  • You have visible creases and wrinkles on your forehead or furrows between your eyebrows.

  • You are generally healthy.

  • You are not a smoker. If you smoke, you can quit at least three weeks before surgery.

  • You do not have any ongoing health conditions that could increase the risks of surgery.

  • You have reasonable expectations of the procedure and its outcomes.

  • You can dedicate at least one to two weeks to recover from the procedure and allow your face time to heal.

  • You accept the risk of complications and understand how Dr. Roham minimizes some of those risks.

If you feel you meet the criteria, the next step is to meet with Dr. Roham for a personal consultation. During that appointment, he will examine your brows, noting their natural position and the severity of the wrinkling/creasing in your eye area. Dr. Roham can also suggest alternative or complementary procedures to give you the transformation you desire.

Once you’ve booked your brow lift, you will receive complete instructions for prepping for surgery.

Brow Lift Procedure Details

Brow lift patients receive anesthesia for the procedure, and they go home the same day. The surgery itself takes a few hours, depending on the techniques used.

The specific technique that Dr. Roham uses for your surgery will be based on the position of your brows, the severity of your sagging, your surgical goals and other factors. He can perform the procedure endoscopically (i.e., through short incisions and using special surgical instruments) if you have mild to moderate sagging and the two of you decide that approach best suits your case.

Traditional brow lift is performed through incisions made above the temples nestled in the hairline. Resulting scars will be very well hidden in the natural hairline. Through the incisions, Dr. Roham removes excess skin and raises the position of the brows. He smooths the forehead skin to diminish wrinkles and furrows.

Brow Lift Recovery

You can expect to tolerate brow lift recovery quite well. Your upper face may be swollen, bruised and tender for a few weeks after surgery, with the intensity of the aftereffects subsiding over time. Dr. Roham checks in during the recovery period and advises when it is safe to resume work, exercise and other normal activities.
