Candidacy for Face and Neck Lift
Candidates for face and neck lift are typically men and women who take good care of themselves but are bothered by noticeable signs of facial aging. They tend to have one or more of the following concerns:
Deep creases and wrinkles around the nose, mouth and chin
Loss of volume in the middle and lower parts of the face
Jowls
Lack of definition along the jawline

Treatment Details
As mentioned, every facelift is slightly different according to the unique needs of the patient, but all facelifts are performed on an outpatient basis with anesthesia.
Dr. Roham creates incisions at the temples, extending along the hairline and down and around the ears. An additional incision under the chin may be needed as well. Through the incisions, Dr. Roham removes extra skin, tightens the underlying tissues and sculpts fat to create more attractive facial contours and greater definition.
Neck lift incisions are made around the ears and along the lower scalp. Another incision underneath the chin may be made. Through the incision, Dr. Roham removes excess fat from the front of the neck and tightens the underlying structures of the neck. He trims excess skin and re-drapes the remaining skin more smoothly over the neck.
After face/neck lift, special garments may be placed around the head and neck to support the healing tissues.
Recovering From Facelift/Neck Lift
One of the most important guidelines for patients following facelift/neck lift is to keep the head elevated at all times (even while sleeping). This helps to keep swelling controlled. Applying cold compresses to the face and neck and taking oral pain medication are also recommended.
After your face/neck lift, Dr. Roham will provide you with all of the information you need to safely recover. He is always available to answer any questions you have. Most of his patients are able to resume work within a week or two, and exercise after approximately four to six weeks.
